Blood Dawn Human
From SSDC, Inc.
This is our world. Once, there were only humans. Some of us had white skin, some black, some yellow. But all of us were human, one blood. Mutations were seen for what they were in those days, a tragedy which had to be prevented. In a world free from the danger of mutants, men were free to concentrate on other problems, such as the production of food and the improvement of life for all. That was a long time ago. Then came the wars. Terrible weapons which should never have been dreamed of, let alone built, were unleashed by fools who had no idea of the consequences of their actions. A terrible genie was released from its bottle, by the ignorance of a few small and petty men, and all will pay the price of their sin of pride. After the killing, the real dying began. Those who died in the first assaults were the lucky ones. Radiation, viruses and bacteria ... all did their work. Soon, mothers gave birth not to babies, but to monsters. I can only imagine what it must have been like for them, to see their hopes for the future twisted and made evil. I pity them even now ... obviously, they were sinners, to have something so terrible visited on them. But still ... Mankind began the bloody descent into a Second Dark Age then. The gangs took over and warred against each other, spilling blood over the few meager resources that were left. It was a terrible, dark time of sufferings. Purgatory had come. Then, slowly, very slowly, man began to reclaim his world. Those who had managed to survive the crucible undestroyed by war and by mutation banded together, united by a common purpose ... a purpose of creation, not destruction. While the masses did the Devil's bloody work, our ancestors began to build the great Domes, to reclaim the life that they had once had.
