A Month in the Tropics: Chapter 2: The Threats
From SSDC, Inc.
The first thing to notic is, the seeming peace of the island.
The weather is perfect now, but is going to be a storm that hits in 5 days. If there are any Meteorologist in the group or equipment... Give them a chance to spot the signs, a day out. It is going to be a BIG storm that will last a few days growing into a “typhoon” then end.
The storm will bring High winds. Flash floods. High tides. Flying and falling debris.
Each base is placed at the “best” location considering. There is however a chance 20% of losing a structure to the storm, this is per building not in all. If a building is damaged there is a 15% chance of its contents being damaged. Depending on actions taken to reduce these percentages.
If a structure is damaged and a system goes down, there are points for getting it back up and running!
There is a 40% chance of "other" storms hitting as this is storm season, chosen by the corp to add to the challenge.
The other teams are the only other Threat.
NPCs for A Month in the Tropics
| Team #1: The Easharindini, which translates from Eridani to mean, roughly, “Those of feminine superiority”. There are 6 members in their group. Their leader is a female Eridani and there is but one male in the group. They utilize a wide variety of skills and weapons. Their trademark is the MC-6 beam pistol which they all carry. They wear Brain Bucket Helmets and Electrolyte armor. They have a variety of armor options and each has a PDS. Their weapons range from Beam, IPL, Pulse, Omega, Metal Gun, and Jammer. They all like up-close and personal combat, as the team is shaped by its leader. The Tza Zen-Skaraike will set up a Permanent Illussion to full any from a distance... |
| Team #2: Skeeter’s, named after a bug that travels on the surface of the water without breaking the surface. There are 6 members of the team. They are lead by a human, but many feel this is not their kind of mission (He Picked the name). They have a good base of skills in a large variety, but they seem to favor High tech. Their weapons seem a little more narrow, which could be seen as a drawback. They employ more plasma weapons then anything else, but they say they have a plan. They utilize a lot of K-Sats designed to locate and weaken a foe before they finish the job. Much of the teams money is tied up in the K-sats, even though they sport some good other gear. Many think if they spent the K-sat money on better armor and weapons they would have a better chance at winning. Still they are in Range Master Helms and Spy Master armor with a variety of options. If they use their heads they just might come out on top. |
