A Month in the Tropics: Chapter 3: Map
From SSDC, Inc.
Maps, I have no maps.
Map [1]
The party isn’t given any maps but if they hacked into the corps computer systems or have other means to map the area. For instance, the Skeeter’s, have a K-sat with lots of integrated options that will be able to map out the island in short order, and they hacked the system earlier and have been working on some “special” programing to utilize what they have learned, even before they came to the island that will be adjusted by what they scan for them selves, to verify and check what they know (they like to check all info).
Without a map one has to investigate the island, and find, the hard way, how best to travel the island. It could take a day or more, depending on the rout, without a map, to get to another base. With a map this time could be cut down considerably. Mode of travel also makes a difference, displacing, jump or hover jets, and flying.
| BM's Note: remember modifiers for visibility during storms and fog. For slick surfaces and winds during storms. These will vary and will not be consistent. The Big storm is the only real storm that hits, others, if they hit, will be more mild and days between storms will be nice if not humid and hot. Use your BL books for modifiers. |
