Weapon Description

Licensed to the Balshrom Science Corporation by the feline Washiran military, the Longfire is a cross between a sniper rifle, with its built-in bipod and top mount for scope, and a chaingun, with its 30mm ammo and powerful punch. Officially described as an 'anti-materiel rifle', the BC-Longfire serves primarily to destroy vehicles, TL 3 tanks, and heavy armor, all of which it affects normally. The weapon's bulk means it cannot be fired 'on the run', instead needing to be fired from its bipod support at the minimum, or else from another non-secured/supported position (-40 to accuracy); a body-mount harness is considered a 'supported' position. This requirement additionally means its short-range accuracy seriously suffers. However, the high power of the round means its long-range accuracy is remarkably good due to the flat trajectory -- accuracy inevitably enhanced by whatever sighting accessory the end-user adds.

This clip-fed weapon is becoming a favorite for anti-heavy-armor snipers as well as those who want to make their targets' heads explode. It is especially scary when you see a Chatilian, Mutzachan, Mazian, or a catlike Washiran sneaking around with one of these!!
