Dragon's Keep

This geographical feature was originally intended to be located within the Shadow's Rim sector. It can, however, be located wherever the BM needs it for his group and adventure idea.
This section appears as a very wide, but winding tunnel of "normal space" within the Motaran Rift. It is a strategically important transit way to Shadow's Rim sector, officially being 'owned' by SSDC - who charges transit fees through the keep at a very high rate.
When travelling through the keep, one seems to be totally surrounded by glowing, drifting clouds of energy in colors that give the impression of riding an endoscopic camera down the windpipe of a Ram python.
Within the Keep, the flow of time is quickened, the way that the distance of travel from entrance to exit are considered to be "1 hex" only even though they are 10 hexes (20 parsecs) apart.
The strangest thing about the keep, however, is this: It wasn't discovered until 2265, when it suddenly "appeared" (scanners would have detected it earlier, if it had been there before). Now, the question arises: When does it CLOSE ?
And, oh: you wonder why it is called the "Dragon's" Keep? Well, several ships travelling the tunnel have reported to have encountered some weird kind of Dragon that lives in the tunnel. Hostile ? Oh, occasionally.
