Q: I have a question regarding matrix generation costs, armor choice, and cross-networking.

1.) A Chatilian Empath cross-networks into energy control matrices. When wearing armor other than Generation or Timar does he pay double cost to generate energy control matrices like a Mutzachan would? And vice-versa: a Mutzachan cross-networks into Empath and wears a helmet other than Illuminary, does he pay double cost for the empath matrix generation?

A: The limitations on generation are innate to the RACE not to the type of matrix being generated. Because of his physiology the Chatilian will take penalties for attempting to generate with the proper helm regardless of what type of matrix he/she/it is generating. The same logic applies to the melonhead (Mutzachan).

2.) A Zen or latent extractor of another race learns either empath or energy control powers and puts on a helmet or armor do they pay double cost when doing so?

A: No. The generation limitations regarding armor are innate to the Chatalian's and Mutzachan's physiology.

3.) What about a Gemini who pays triple cost when in armor and cross-networks, or other races that cross-network into Gemini powers?

Basically are the cost increases a function of race or the matrix type itself?

A: Race. See above.

Q: I have a player who mounts one armband and two microlines (one each leg). If you can fire all arm rockets off at once what would the penalties stack up to hit?

A: Apply the automatic / burst fire rules. If all shots are aimed at 1 target, there is no penalty however the BM determines the number of hits, usually requiring a to-hit roll for each rocket fired.

Typically you can fire ALL of the missiles off in an arm rocket rack at a single target with a one command/button push. However, using multiple racks simultaneously imparts the multiple weapon penalty and the snap shot penalty since aiming three racks simultaneously is likely impossible (see below).

All rockets fired would recieve the -40 snap shot penalty plus the multiple weapon penalties: -10 penalty for the 1st weapon and the -25 for the second weapon & 3rd weapon, etc. These penalties would be negated for reflex missiles, which are self-guiding.

The number of targets that can be fired upon equals the number of arms with rockets + 1 for each leg with a microline-model rocket rack. So a Human would be able to shoot at 3 targets while a Phentari could shoot 6, assuming each arm and leg had an arm rocket rack.

As always your BM has the final discretion on what he or she will allow.
