Fool's Pit

This geographical feature was originally intended to be located within the Shadow's Rim sector. It can, however, be located wherever the BM needs it for his group and adventure idea.
This ion storm looks like some kind of whirlwind or 'pit' in the fabric of the universe. It is rather stable, leading to several exploration trips into the depths of the Pit. Although unmanned ships safely returned from the pit, no manned ship has ever returned from there. Observing shipcrews have reported the sound of a sinister laughter shortly before exploration ships ventured forth into the Pit, only to disappear. Some crew members have gone insane from this laughter, which they experienced for months after the initial encounter with what is now called the "Lord(s) of the Pit".
