MS-G55
From SSDC, Inc.
Weapon Description
The MS-G55 is the first machine gun on the MS line of weapons. This is a excellent buy, and is relatively light for a weapon of its caliber. This weapon comes equiped with a bi-pod mounted on the front of the stock. The weapon can be set up to fire in several different ways. A fixed position allows for a large continous feed belt out of an ammo box. The weapon can be used with a backpack belt feed, or with an oversized drum clip that holds 60 rounds. With the MS style threshold reduction, this weapon can be a very useful addition to a base or weapon mount. Rams have found this an enjoyable weapon as well, as it isn't as heavy as some other Machine Guns. The weapon follows the rules of the MS style weapons first described in the MS-48 pistol. This is a plastic ceramic machine gun, which accounts for the weight savings. This weapon can be fired in single shot mode.
ENC of the backpack is 80, and holds 600rounds. Cost for a full backpack is 2500 credits. ENC of the drum clip adds another 3 to the gun. Drum clip costs 50 for the clip ENC of the continuous feed ammo belt from the fixed position feeder is 180 ENC, but this holds 1200rounds, and is easily re-filled allowing for an almost inexhaustable supply of ammo. This feed box is usually floor mounted, near the weapon.
The MS-G55 can be disconnected from any of the feeding systems and connected to another.
An unconventional ammo size is used as well, which leads to some slight ammo availability issues. The weapon uses .55 caliber ammo. Smith Armament Systems is currently getting ready to expand ammo production for this model, to meet the higher demand. Ammo costs are 120 for a box of 50, with an ENC of 8 for the box.
