The Sharrakhar Nexus

Much controversy exists concerning this unique "cosmic typhoon", however most scientists agree that it is some kind of variant of a quantum vortex, in the sense that it is definetly the "other" side of a black hole. However, most of the b-zillion of tons of debris spewn forth from this nexus are released at zero or almost zero speed. Viewn from the "side", the nexus looks like a spiral disk, with a dense ray of brightly burning sparks shooting off in the "up" direction. Whereas matter that is released in the "horizontal" direction lazily drifts away (or, rather, almost stays at the same place, while the Nexus is moving on) the "ray" consists of debris shooting off with almost light speed. One could say that the speed of the debris increases proportional to the angle in which it is spewn forth, with a small corridor in exactly 90 degrees angle being "empty" (since that debris speed exceeds light speed and therefore travels back in time, never being released into this universe in the first place). The Nexus itself "slowly" drifts away, traveling 1 hex (2 parsecs) in approximately 10 years. Scientists theorize that there exists a quantum wormhole of large proportions and high stability in the epicenter of the Nexus, however since scientists also theorize that a traversing ship would reappear in another universe in the center of a black hole no efforts have been undertaken so far to proof this theory. None besides that of the exploration ship Archangel in 2265, which never returned - but it can still be seen when looking inside the epicenter (also called the "Eye of Sharrakhar"), hanging apparently frozen in time just in the middle of the Nexus. Unsubstantiated rumors exist as to several people having encountered the Archangel in several places throughout the universe, at the same time. These rumors baffle even Mutzachan fluent wirth Markussian physics to the point of outright denying anything relating these rumors. A Gen-Human by the name of Dr. Charlemaque recently wrote a theorem stating that the Archangel has entered a state of quantum energy much like an electron, traveling at quantum-lightspeed and therefore existing in almost all places at the same time in past, present and future.

The Medusa Vortex

This area surrounding the Nexus is a chaotic region indeed. Debris flows off into various directions at different speeds, crashing, colliding and bursting into explosions, emitting such high grades of gamma radiation that all efforts to enter the Medusa have failed miserably. However, within the Vortex, three systems have been detected (X1, X2 and X3) that apparently where former systems of this sector, before the Nexus reached them. Now, scattered debris enters the systems, colliding with the dying planets and suns or entering an orbit around the sun(s). Rumors claim that these worlds are inhabitat by strange energy-based beings, X-3 even being the home of an extremely powerful community of Mutzachans.

The Tail of Apep

This is what the Sharrakhar Nexus left behind while travelling through the Galaxy. Most asteroids and gamma clouds are relatively stable, stretching forth in a "tail" some 900 light years long. Calculations as to the origin abd age of the nexus lead to the conclusion that it originated some 900 billion years somewhere outside the Fornax galaxy - even if that sounds totally lunatic. Calculations based on the trail (the Tail) of the Nexus indicate that it will continue orbiting around the center of the Galaxy, drawing closer and closer orbits while travelling to the center itself. Most Mutzachan regret that they won't live to see what happens when the Nexus reaches the Pendulask Storm, while most Mutzachans fear the moment when the Pendulask storm will reach the Nexus (a far more imminent and unsettling possibility).
