Players Info

--- By accepting the terms of the competition you have also accepted the mission at hand. At first you think little of the extra training, a lot is left in your hands, but the company 'Pushes you Hard', it’s like being in basic all over again (if you are an Eridani or the like... you love this!).

---Weekends are Great too, you can almost get away with anything, and the company picks up the tab.

BM Note: Feel free to play this up as some rowdy fun and roleplaying opportunities. Of course “IF” players want to stay in and train on the weekend they can earn an extra “15" skill points. Let them find this out later so they are not encourage or manipulated to stay in, unless you think they need the points. This is a two year Intensive training program, only when the Armor arrives do they become sequestered, and the rest of the training is done in it! If they did not go out on the weekend, take into consideration the long term effects, because they are not let out again. This can be harmful to some, once on the planet. Other

BM Note: ---Nothing is mentioned about the mission until they are sequestered. No one in the facility seems to know anything about it and there is nothing in the commuter systems. Also there is very little, if any, information about this armor system, and when it arrives is when the team becomes restricted to the base with no outside contact. They will continue training, doing days in a row in their armor, to get used to it. The systems are highly integrated but everyone is shown their workings. If a comrade falls, armor options can be cannibalized but it is 4levels higher difficulty, to the appropriate skills, to take systems out of one suit and put into another.

BM Note: ---Weapons come out upon sequestering also. The company has, from the first, taken stock in what weapons are preferred by each team member. There are no “new” weapon systems, but Omni Adaptec has dropped a fortune for this mission, in hopes of success, and Will Provide The BEST of weapons! Anticipating the teams needs they have assembled many weapons. BM: let the players ask for what they want, give it to them. Push weapons that can be recharged easily, but anything they can carry goes. Emphasize that missiles will run short fast, and that what they come with the armor already weighs enough! Also again, emphasize Stealth and espionage in a hostile environment!!!

Briefing

---Once sequestered and deep into training, with their new combat systems, do they get "The Briefing".
The briefing room is small, but more then enough seats for the team, and a few extras, centered around a holo projector. A Mutzachan comes in. Not overly distinct, not very old, as far as Mutzachan’s go. He is, of course, quite serious as he introduces himself, “I am Mezenien, let us get to the heart of why we’re here, and why so much is being invested into you.” An eye lifts as he gazes around the room at each team member, then the lights dim and a hologram activates 'guided by what he says.'

(System ‘AE5H01MC50' Kull)”

---(If I can use this system?) Hells Kitchen, the Kull System, Xarian/ Arachnid space. There are two planets of interest to the Alliance, you will be going to one, Kull itsself. It is rumored to be a breeding ground of experimentations for Mutations of Alliance Member Races. The Alliance needs to know...

      • 1- If these rumors are true.
      • 2- What are the natures of the experiments.
      • 3- How the results are achieved.
      • 4- What the planets defenses are both externally and internally.
      • 5- To get that information back to Omni Adaptec Command.
      • 6- If the opportunity arises, Omni Adaptec will triple your bonus for the same info from Satia, the second planet of interest in the system.

---Once on the planet all choices and decisions will be up to your team. As you will be the ones present, you will be the ones most qualified to evaluate the situation. It is recommended... the Mutzachan gets this look to him like Dhu... that stealth is your ally in all things. You will be completely alone and out of communications. You will have a means to communicate the information you gather. To be used once and only when you have gathered enough info. Then it will be up to yourselves to find a way off the planet, as ships can’t get close enough to be of much help to you. This bring up the method of how you are getting to the planet in the first place. This brings us to The EGG.

The Egg

---Omni Adaptec has in their possession a material that is extremely apt at energy conversion, it’s complicated. The point of it all is, this material has been shaped into a large egg configuration. You will be place in your armor, in cryo-stasis, and placed in the egg. Your systems will be powered out, this assures no energy anomalies for detection. The egg is covered in a combination of rocky elements, that will help the Disguise. You are then ... released/fired on an intercept course for the planet as a small cluster of asteroids/meteors, too small to be fussed with, If detected. Your course has been carefully calculated. You should not come in contact with ships or other objects of danger. The size is too small to pose a problem so you should not be shot out of the sky, mostly because you should burn-up in the atmosphere. OK, OK, you aren’t really going to burn up, mostly.
---As you heats up, in the few seconds it would normally take to burn up in the atmosphere, the shell will convert much of the heat, charging your systems and activating the automatic programs that will do a variety of things. 1: a burst scan will locate ‘as’ open of space as it can, 2: a cloaking systems will kick in hiding you from detection. 3: You will be revived. 4: Auto guidance systems will direct you to the most open landing sight, safely; and all of this should appear as nothing more then what would be expected from a flare-up that could easily be explained by the various material make-up of the meteors “you,” that entered the atmosphere. Easy!
Then you will begin your reconnaissance.

Risk of Death and Dismemberment Release Forms, must be signed again.

Note:

The program is designed to do its best to keep everyone close together. All systems and weapons will be charged and ready for use. There will be a little lag time as the party gets oriented. I mean they are waking up to violent reentry and by the time they are awake they can’t see because of the cloak, explaining this will help them be prepared (make Agg Checks modified by any Emergency Survival level). The cloak should give them time to get oriented. (Basically the plan goes according to design.)

Note:

The cloak is not a built in armor option but a temporary system that can’t handle more then the reentry. The cloak will last long enough for team members to wake fully. Also the armor systems do have all the other improved “None” detection and blending-in equipment to assist in the mission.

Note:

Once on the planet I recommend a set series of encounters that will escalade at a speed based on how the team handles each. The more “signs” they create of their presence the sooner forces will begin investigating, and the sooner the team will be discovered. Once the planet is alert the difficulty goes UP!

BM Note: The 2'x2'x3' box with them will be valuable but will be difficult to carry around. It is best if they realize this and find a place to stash them at sites near any "Activity", but the initial problem faced will be the Great distances the team will need to travel.

The planet is corrosive. All their gear has corrosive protection, even weapons. This make combat tricky as penetration can be more dangerous then expected, so let them know. As your vision returns meaning the cloaks remaining effects fade, you notice you are in a highly corrosive environment. Visibility is limited, to begin with, and you think you really are in a Big Open Area! There are no active sensors or detection devises; designed so the enemy, if detecting for signals, would find none upon landing. If 'you' think it safe now....
